MY STORY

Shehab's adventurous childhood started from a young age. At 9 years old the adventures started with safari trips deep inside the Egyptian Sahara with his father, where he gained a lot of love to the outdoors and he Quotes "I was more afraid to go to school that sleeping in a tent deep in the desert".

Every month Shehab would go on a trip somewhere different and maybe even twice or three times per month. Shehab started to learn his way around a lot of things that are helpful in the outdoors; navigation caught his attention the most, and together Shehab and his father travelled around Egypt where they both would plan the trip and Shehab would navigate.

2013 Shehab was sent on a trip to the summit of Egypt Mount St.Catherine. it was a one of a kind trip that triggered the adventurous spirit inside of him "The sunrise from the top of the mountain was something I will never forget in my life, it moved something inside of me that I guess changed my view of the world forever"

Since that moment, the adventurous spirit inside of Shehab grew wild and sky rocketed. Shehab never stopped at only climbing mountains, but the exact opposite. Jumping out of aeroplanes, diving in the ocean, and also the exploring of old ruins all around of Egypt.

Aconcagua

Aconcagua

The expedition starts on the 20th of November 2019, "The trek for base camp is long, hot and sunny" Shehab says. the entrance of the Aconcagua park is 2900 MASL and the base camp sits at 4400 MASL. The hike takes 3 days. The base camp is full of life unlike the way there. Shehab spends a coupe of resting days at base camp for acclimatisation before he starts the climb of a nearby mountain called Bonnete.

Mount Bonnete is a nearby mountain that is regularly climbed for acclimation, it sits at a staggering height of 5050 MASL. The climb starts on the 25th of November, "It was a pretty straight forward climb, not technical nor is it just hiking"

The decent from Bonnete was very unexpected, "One minute it was all rocks and gravel, and the next all I can was white" Shehab and his team had to move fast before the weather would worsen. 1 hour in the decent the team was separated. "I was pushing myself through heavy snow and strong winds hoping that I was moving in the right direction towards base camp, a wooden building started to appear in the distance, 2 of my teammates and I sought to seek refuge in what seamed to be a cabin". The team waited the storm out and then started the trek back to base camp.

Between the days of November 25th to November 28th, Shehab and his team get ready before heading up the mountain to the higher camps, they a carry half their gear and carry them to Camp 1 before heading back to Base Camp to rest.

On the 28th Shehab and his team Reach Camp 1 (Canada) all but one. During the climb to Camp 1 one of the climbers climbing with Shehab suffers symptoms of AMS or Acute Mountain Sickness, which is when the body can not handle the altitude gain. The night on Camp 1 was very quite, they were the only team climbing the mountain that day.
